Made famous for a multitude of reasons, why not get the ball rolling with what’s really put us on the map, the all-important selfie with the Derry Girls mural before tackling one of the city’s most revered historical landmarks, the Derry Walls which encompass the ‘old town’ and date back to the 17th century.

From here you will witness the stunning views of the city’s cathedrals, St Columb’s and St Eugene’s which have served both sides of the community down through the ages, as well as the city’s world-renowned murals – truly works of art, they are well worth a look

If you have an hour to spare, a local guided walking tour and/or trip to one of the local museums to learn more on the city we call home is a good shout!

Whether on foot or if you avail of our car parking facilities, we can signpost you to many breath-taking scenic hotspots of the city and surrounding Donegal countryside.

Shopping and Dining

Having shopped until you drop, replenishment is in order and this is where Derry comes into its own.. in fact, a favourite colloquialism has emerged such is the fondness of locals for said snack! sample the breakfast of champions which many a Derry legend grew up on.. the gravy ring!

Known far and wide for its rich history, our wee city is connected by its impressive three bridges, two of which are just around the corner and will have you reach the heart of the city centre with a mere 5-10 minute leisurely walk from us.. what are you waiting for..!

With nearby amenities on our doorstep such as St Columb’s Park boasting glorious nature walking trails, a running track, tennis courts, football pitches, park cafe and a leisure centre which includes a state-of-the-art climbing wall and where you can also avail of the recently renovated gym’s very reasonable daily rate.

If you’re into golf, the City of Derry Golf Club is a short 5 minute drive by taxi and for that 19th hole, the charming Iona House Bar awaits your triumphant return with its authentic Irish hospitality!

Here you can soak up the atmosphere over your chosen poison in the relaxed and welcoming surroundings. We recommend this as your first port of call if you are hitting the town to check out the city’s celebrated restaurant, bar and music scene or just fancy soaking up the local atmosphere in one of its cosy snug settings. or heading to some of the city’s finest restaurants at the recently transformed Ebrington Square. A former army barracks, this vibrant additional city hub attracts locals and tourists alike providing for art exhibitions, sporting activities, music festivals, excellent eateries and glorious suntrap and people-watching open-air gallery. Linking the east bank to the west via the city’s latest additional pedestrian bridge, a leisurely stroll over this modernistic suspension bridge, known as The Peace Bridge, has opened up the city to the concept of outdoor living!
